Ref no. 593/APT. The Lead Engineer works alongside the discipline specific engineers in the Client team to ensure that project deliverables meet their specific requirements. The role works alongside the Engineering Manager and provides a line management position to discipline specific project team. A Lead Engineer will be expected to fulfil this duty on multiple projects.

12 Month Contract at £31 - £35 per hour.
In co-operation with client (discipline specific) project personnel, for the technical quality of all conceptual designs, design schemes and detail drawings and other design documentation.
Ensure, in conjunction with designers, that designs can be economically manufactured and assembled.
To produce calculations and have checked independently by suitably qualified and experienced personnel, or check calculations by others where appropriate.
Ensure that Project quality standards are maintained.
Ensure adequate knowledge of client process libraries, standards and specific client requirements.
To be the principle focal point for liaison with client engineering personnel Responsible for day to day management of design/build projects in terms of technical performance.
To maintain effective discipline within the team To plan, co-ordinate and control the work of the staff allocated to the project.
Report to the Engineering Manager, by way of review meetings, on the progress of projects in terms of technical performance Ensure planned reviews are conducted in accordance with the programme and appropriate records produced.
Bring to the attention of the Engineering Manager any matter that may affect the contract performance.
To participate in design reviews and, where appropriate, organise such reviews.
Ensure that subsequent design meets the projects' requirements.
Promote a good working relationship between client and the company.
