We are urgently seeking a UK Chartered Civil Engineer with experience of heavy civil engineering design and construction, Preferably with power station projects experience. The role is to be the lead Chartered Engineer providing Design Checks (auditing and approving Consultant's drawings and specifications for construction) for the build of a new power station. Work to commence in February 2009 and run for 15 months. The lead Chartered Engineer would have the support of one other dedicated structural engineering specialist and other technical experts as required for key elements of the checking process. Knowledge/experience of many of the following would be desirable; Piling works/foundations General infrastructure (Roads & Drainage) Mechanical & Electrical systems Building services Heat Recovery Steam Generators (including stack & building) Single Shaft Gas Turbines Cooling water inlet/outlets Water supplies and treatment Role would require travel. Monthly site meetings All flights and other travel/accommodation expenses would be paid.
