Project Overview

Objective Working as part of the Fuel Services Team on the Sellafield THORP plant to develop and maintain the software, hardware and documentation of a number of PLC's and associated Human Interface terminals.

The Successful Applicant will take ownership of the control system tasts mainly associated with MODICON (984 Series) PLCs on THORP Fuel Services plant.

Deliverables Reporting to the Control Systems Engineer will provide an essential link between the operations support technitians and the control systems team engineers, the successful applicant will be a team player who is also capable of working on his/her own.

Typically the role will involve: - PLC hardware and software support including fault diagnosis and rectification.

Provision of technical support and assistance to the operations team regarding control system issues.

Carry out routine maintenance and inspection of PLC control systems.

Monitoring plant performance and advising on the need for changes and upgrades.

produce design change packs/specification to support plant improvements identified on teh systems for which they have responsibility.

installation and testing of software/hardware upgrades.
